Tasks on a matter

The Tasks tab of a matter acts as your to-do list for the transaction.

To mark a task as complete, select the checkbox to the left of the task name.

When a task is marked as complete, it may generate either or both of the following:

  • An automated action: the task may generate an email, document, SMS template, form or invoice.
  • An automated email: the task may trigger an automated email to your stakeholders, notifying them of an update to the transaction.

At the top of the Tasks tab you are able to:

  1. Select + Add at the top of the Tasks tab
  2. Template: select the type of task you would like to add:
  3. Select None to create a brand new task
  4. Select Document Esignature Request to create a brand new task that allows you to send a document to be electronically signed.
  5. Select a pre-created task to add an existing task from your matter template
  6. Name: provide the task with a name
  1. Position: choose where the task should be positioned within the current list

Change the way your tasks are displayed by selecting the dropdown list on the right of the Tasks tab:

  • Collapse completed: the task will be minimised when completed
  • Collapse all: all tasks are minimised, regardless of their current state
  • Expand all: all tasks are expanded, regardless of their current state

Change the order of the tasks on the matter by selecting Order to the right of the Tasks tab:

  1. Drag and drop each task into the desired position
  2. Confirm

Select Reset to the right of the Tasks tab to revert the task list of the matter according to the current matter template:

  1. Enter the matter’s reference
  2. Choose whether to keep a record of the completed tasks

Through the settings cog on each task you are able to:

  • Amber Traffic Light: manually add an amber alert to the matter
  • Red Traffic Light: manually add a red alert to the matter
  • Rename: change the name of the task
  • Not Applicable: mark the task as not applicable to the matter
  • Delete: remove the task from the matter
  • Visible to: manually change which stakeholders can see this task within their portal
  • Private: manually change the task so it’s not visible in any stakeholder’s portal
